Staff of the Department of Architecture at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi have paid a goodwill visit to retired colleagues resident in Kumasi, marking a rare reconnection with former faculty members.
The visit, led by the Head of Department, Daniel Y. A. Duah was aimed at checking on the welfare of retired staff, extending season’s greetings, updating them on the department’s strategic direction, and seeking their counsel.
Those visited included George William Kofi Intsiful and Daniel Amoateng-Mensah, both former heads of the department, as well as Victor Kootin-Sanwu. Sam Sarkodie Mensah is scheduled to be visited on December 24.
The retired faculty expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as the first such outreach by the department since the 1970s. They urged current staff to continue working in unity and offered prayers for blessings and abundance for the department.
During the interactions, Prof. Duah briefed the retirees on key decisions taken at a recent academic staff meeting and invited their reflections, guidance, and prayers as the department charts its next phase of growth.
